President Donald Trump visited Las Vegas last Saturday to hold his first rally since resuming the presidency. During the event, the president emphasized the achievements of his first week in office, describing his return to the White House as a “day of liberation.”
The rally, held at the Circa Resort & Casino, brought together a crowd of approximately 2,000 people. In his speech, Trump addressed critical topics for his administration, including his proposal to eliminate taxes on tips, a measure he claimed would directly benefit workers in the service industry. To emphasize this point, a banner behind him displayed the phrase, “No taxes on tips.”
The president explained that this proposal would be part of the tax reforms currently being negotiated by Republicans in Congress. These reforms aim to extend certain benefits from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Regarding this initiative, Trump remarked:
“I know you haven’t heard anything about this, and I’m sure it didn’t influence the state, the fact that we won this massive majority—a state that hadn’t been won by a Republican in decades,” Trump said. “But I’m sure you haven’t heard about it. We’re going to get it for you: no taxes on tips.”
Looking ahead, Trump promised that the economy during his second term would surpass the achievements of his first, which was characterized by steady growth and low inflation before the pandemic caused a surge in unemployment. According to him, the measures he plans to implement will have an even more significant positive impact on the country.
In addition to his economic agenda, the president discussed his recent decision to pardon certain individuals involved in the events of January 6. He also took the opportunity to highlight key moments of his return to the presidency, including the support he received in Nevada, the high television ratings for his inauguration, and the number of executive orders he signed during his first week.
The rally in Las Vegas showcased the enthusiasm of his supporters and Trump’s strategy to solidify his political base while reaffirming his commitment to policies aimed at the prosperity and well-being of the United States.
