President of the United States, Donald Trump, recently addressed the future of TikTok, stating that he is in discussions with various interested parties to decide the fate of the popular app. During a flight to Florida aboard Air Force One, he announced that a decision will be made within the next 30 days.
Trump highlighted the growing interest TikTok has generated among potential buyers. In response to questions from reporters, he said:
“I’ve talked to a lot of people about TikTok, and there’s great interest in TikTok,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, the White House is working on a potential agreement that would allow ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok, to retain a stake in the business. However, aspects such as data collection and software updates would be overseen by Oracle, a company that already provides part of TikTok’s technological infrastructure.
Despite these developments, Trump clarified that he has not had direct conversations with Larry Ellison, founder of Oracle, regarding the app’s acquisition. When asked about the possibility of a deal involving Oracle and other investors, he stated:
“No, not with Oracle. Numerous people are talking to me, very important people, about buying it, and I will make that decision probably within the next 30 days,” he affirmed. He also added: “Congress has given 90 days. If we can save TikTok, I think that would be a good thing.”
The situation continues to unfold, and the coming weeks will be crucial in determining the future of this platform that has revolutionized social media worldwide.
